by Staff ReporterUN Secretary-General Kofi Annan unveiled his new peace plan for the Middle East today, following a fact-finding mission to Lebanon.
He revealed the UN would play a pivotal role in stabilising the region, and that future peace efforts would be:
- UN-inspired
- UN-planned, and
- UN-coordinated
Mr Annan has now returned to New York, where he's due to give a speech.
